Good to know

Twelve rounds, three to five minutes. Cartoon violence, no gore.

While they aim, nobody tells them where you hide.

  1. In online duels the server decides every hit. Your game only receives what you could see, plus the reveal at the end of each turn.

  2. While they aim, a shooter is never sent your position.

  3. Smoke is honest: nobody in or behind it is sent to the shooter.

  4. Shots count where the target was in the shooter's view, at most a quarter of a second back, so running is a fair move.

  5. Bots always wear a BOT label.

  6. Report a player in any match against other players. A person reviews the flags and decides bans, and every ban carries a reason. Match logs (inputs and shot data) are kept for 30 days for review.

  7. Only proof of a modified game moves a player into a separate matchmaking pool. Everything statistical goes to a person.

  8. Rewards need a real game. Forfeits and matches that weren't genuine give no XP, gold or trophies.

What we can't promise

Aim sway runs on your device, so aimbots can't be prevented outright. The answer is detection, review and bans.

Shooter, wall and hidden player Illustration: a shooter on a perch aims at a wall. The player hiding behind the wall is drawn only as a dashed outline, because the game does not send the shooter that position while they aim.
Drawn to show the idea. While they aim, the shooter sees the wall, not you.
  • Shooter
  • Sight lines stop at the wall
  • You, not sent

Cover doesn't save you. It takes the edge off.

Every bullet goes through all cover. A wall can only take damage off the shot, down to 35 percent of it. While a bullet still has punch left it blows a crater where it tears through, so every shot reshapes the battlefield and no spot is safe.

Damage through cover: from 100 percent down to a floor of 35 percent.
  • Wind bends shots, and both players see it.
  • Barrels explode when hit and set each other off.
  • Headshots hit harder: double damage with the Longshot LR-7 and the Thunderclap .50.
  • Glass breaks at a touch and hides nobody.
  • Zero health ends a duel. After twelve rounds the player with more health wins. A tie goes to whoever blew away more enemy cover.

Install it like an app

  • Android: Chrome, Edge or Samsung Internet offers to install it.
  • iPhone and iPad: in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
  • Windows, macOS and ChromeOS: use the install icon in the address bar of Chrome or Edge.
  • macOS Safari 17 or later: File, then Add to Dock.
  • Firefox on desktop can't install it.

An installed copy plays practice, Squad Siege against bots and the campaign without internet, on the maps it has cached, and updates itself.

In your browser

Works on desktop and phone browsers. It needs WebGL2. Built for touch too: stick, Crouch, gadget, Zoom, Fire and Steady.

Android app

The Android app is in the works. It isn't on Google Play yet, so there is nothing to download.

Questions players ask

Play in your browser
What is Hide & Snipe?

A turn-based 1v1 sniper duel. One player hides behind destructible voxel cover, the other snipes from a perch across the water, then you swap. Twelve rounds, three to five minutes.

Is it free?

Yes, it is free to play. Every mode, map and weapon class is reachable without paying. There are optional in-game purchases; see the next question.

Can paying make me stronger?

Yes, in a limited way, and we would rather say so. Weapons and armor of Epic rarity and above can be bought with gems. To contain that, ranked matches pair you by trophies and by loadout power, and friend duels and tournaments give everyone equal stats. Skins, emotes and wraps never change stats. A paid pass can also get you to pass rewards sooner.

How long is a match?

A duel is twelve rounds, six turns of shooting each: about three to five minutes. A Squad Siege match is ten rounds.

How violent is it?

Cartoon violence, no gore. The final shot shows the impact, nothing more.

Who is it for?

Cartoon violence, no gore, optional in-game purchases and clan text chat. No age rating has been issued yet.

Can I play offline?

Once installed, yes: practice, Squad Siege against bots and the campaign. Stars sync later, and campaign rewards only arrive when you clear a level online. An installed copy only has the maps it has cached; Sunny Shores is always there.

Where can I play right now?

In your browser. An Android app is in the works. It isn't on Google Play yet.

Can I play with friends?

Yes: friend duels with a room code, parties of up to five for Squad Siege, and clans.

What do I need to run it?

A modern browser with WebGL2, on a desktop or a phone.

Do I need a wallet or any crypto to play?

No. Everything you need to play, rank and progress works without one. Some optional wallet features are planned for the browser version only, for players 18 and over, where allowed. The Android app has none.

How do I move my account to another device?

Make a recovery code in the game. It is 20 characters, shown once, and anyone who has it can take the account. Enter it on the other device.

What about cheaters?

The server decides every hit and never sends the shooter where you hide. Reports go to a person who reviews them and decides bans. Aim sway runs on your device, so aimbots can't be prevented outright, which is why detection and review exist.

Your shot.

Practice against a bot starts without anyone else online.
